UET and PEECA Sign an MOU to Establish Air Conditioner Testing Facility

UET Lahore and Punjab Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (PEECA) signed an MOU for the Establishment of Air Conditioner Testing Facility on 8th May 2019. The ceremony took place at conference room at Vice Chancellor Office in University of Engineering and Technology Lahore. The agreement was signed between ECL, CERAD UET and PEECA and at the ceremony Prof Dr. Aziz Akbar (VC UET Lahore), Dr. Waqar Mehmood (Director KICS and CERAD) and Mr. Mohammad Ali (Sr. Manager Energy Conservation Lab (ECL)) and other faculty members represented UET, while Mr. Adnan Mudassar (Managing Director) and Mr. Abdul Rehman (Program Manager) represented PEECA.

Energy Conservation Lab (ECL) has been established at KICS in order to develop strong linkage with local industry and public sector organizations with energy conservation key concept in mind. Energy conservation is equally important to energy generation as far as energy deficit issues are concerned in Pakistan. The lab performs domestic, commercial and industrial energy audits, provides hands on training to engineers and industry professionals. The lab also provides support in establishing other facilities related to Motor Testing and Air Conditioner Unit Testing and Labeling.

Air Conditioner Testing Facility Laboratory is first of its kind in Pakistan and set to be established in CERAD UET KSK with funding from PEECA. The lab will have the facility to test and standardize air conditioners according to international standards, provide trainings and stimulate research in the domain of HVAC systems.
