Renewable Energy and Efficiency Conference 2019 Held at Expo Lahore by , CERAD, KICS and UET Lahore
Lahore, 26th September, 2019 – Renewable Energy and Efficiency Conference 2019 was held at Lahore Expo Center on 26th September. It was co-organized by E-Commerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd, CERAD (Centre for Energy Research and Development), KICS (Al-Khawarazmi Institute of Computer Science) and UET (University of Engineering and Technology), Lahore.
It consisted of two sessions – one was held before lunch and the other was after the lunch. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Khursheed Nizam, the owner of Jamal Yellow Pages of Paskistan) who shared his valuable life and career experiences with the audience as how did he became an MBBS doctor and then how did he start his business with merely 10,000 rupees in 1983? He told his journey from the 10,000 Rs. business to 150 crores business of today. A visual was played about the activities on CERAD and KICS UET.
Next followed the sessions laced with talks by the expert speakers from the field of renewable energy. Few talks were also delivered on some other subjects. The talks, which were delivered on renewable energy included ‘Inverters for Microgrids’, ‘Energy Efficiency in Smart Buildings’, ‘Energy Extraction from Safe Muncipal Waste Using Nano Technology’ (this talk was further discussed by two other speakers from industry – Mr. Rehan from Rehan Industries and Mr. Sajid), Energy Efficiency’. Other talks included ‘Blockchain’ and ‘Solar Panel Installation’.
Invited speakers were from the industry and academia including Dr. Syed Abdur Rahman, Dr. Ghalib, Dr. Khurshid Bhatti, Mr. Rehan, Mr. Sajid, Jamshaid Iqbal Janjua, Waqas Khalid and Muhammad Ali. Kashif Bashir, Manager Trainings at KICS UET, expressed his views on renewable energy and about the conference.
Industrial exhibition was also held there where CERAD placed its stall.
The guest of closing ceremony was energy minister Punjab Dr. Akhtar Malik who shared his valuable thoughts on renewable energy and told that it was the need of the day. Dr. Akhtar further told that the foreign delegates were now showing interest in making investments in Pakistan and that was a good sign. Along with him, ambassador of Belarus Mr. Andree also made appearance with his associates. The minister presented the souvenirs to the guests and certificates to the successful students of energy program held at UET Lahore.
The event ended up with certificates’ distribution among the organizers and the participants of the conference.
