KICS UET Organizes 5G and IoT Summit 2019
IEEE COMSOC Lahore Chapter in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos IT Chair and Al-Khawarazmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) UET Lahore organized 5G and IoT Summit 2019 on 26th February. It was held at the seminar hall of the institute in UET. 85 participants from various universities and industries such as UET Taxila, University of the Punjab, LUMS, UET Lahore and Power Soft attended this mega event where presentations on the most popular topic of today ‘5G and IoT ‘ were delivered apart from other interesting activities happened over there.
Kashif Bashir (HUTIC Manager and Chair IEEE COMSOC Lahore Chapter) delivered a welcome note. Usman Munawar (Senior Research Officer, KICS and General Secretary IEEE Lahore Section) talked on ‘Steer Your Career with IEEE) and elaborated the benefits and the functions of IEEE. Dr. Ghalib A Shah (Vice Chair, Sultan Qaboos IT) talked on the topic of ‘Communication in Internet of Things’. Prof. Tariq Jadoon (Chairman EE, LUMS) delivered his presentation on the subject of ‘5G: What Can We Learn from the Previous 4Gs). Following next was a talk on ‘Multimedia Streaming in Mobile Environment and IoT’ by Muhammad Saleem (Sr. Architect Power Soft). Last talk of the event was delivered by Fahmeed Akram from HUTIC on the subject of ‘IP Core Network in 5G Technology).
The event concluded with the presentation of shields to the honorable guests and the participants. The guests and the participants were then taken on a visit to Huawei UET Joint IT and Telecom Center (HUTIC).
