KICS UET Launches Campaigns for Save Paper and Save Nature – The Optimal Use of Office Utilities
‘Save Paper’ and ‘Save Nature’ are what KICS and UET have geared up and the campaigns for the same have been launched in these manners. Vice Chancellor UET Lahore has directed for austerity and cost reduction and following his direction, KICS has launched awareness. For the effective use of office utilities, the administration and management of Al-Khawarazmi Institute of Cimputer Science (KICS) has initiated the plans to launch few campaigns in the coming months.
The campaigns will be run in a planned system. A month long campaign “Save Nature” will be exercised week wise in such a manner that first week will be focused on saving paper themed as “Save Paper”, in the second week the emphasis will be on saving energy, third week will be focused on saving water and in the fourth week the focus will be on cleanliness.
In this regard, the public service messages will be spread through social media and SMDs as well as through some stickers on marked locations. Awareness session to let the staff know about these campaigns will be held. In each campaign, every week the designated staffers will be going in different labs to perform some activities with managers and the lab staff so as to encourage them to take an active part in this campaign.
Tips for how you can save paper:
- Printing. Turn your printer off and try 1 day print-free challenge.
- Journals. Extract your best ideas and let the rest go.
- Personal identification and documents. Scan and store, having the scanned version will help if you lose the real one.
- Sticky Notes. Use sticky notes option on your computers and laptops rather than using paper sticky notes.
- Use lower grammage paper for your printing, copying etc. And use both sides of paper
