KICS UET Arranges an Awareness Seminar on ICT Skill Competition 2018

KICS UET Lahore organized a skill competition called ICT Skill Competition in collaboration with Huawei Technologies. A seminar on this competition was held on 4th October, 2018 at Main Auditorium in University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore for the awareness and registrations for the competition. More than 2000 students from all over Punjab’s universities attended this event. Among thousands of registered students in this competition, 6 students will be chosen and those will be paid a free trip to China along with many cash prizes and gifts. The final round of the competition will be held by the end of this year in China at Huawei Technologies’ headquarters.  The 6 winners will be given jobs at Huawei Technologies along with many gifts and prizes such as mobile phones and study vouchers. The final winner will be awarded with the cash prize of $30,000.

Director KICS, Dr. Waqar Mahmood welcomed the honorable guests and then delivered a presentation describing about the Huawei and KICS’s collaborations in terms of ICT Skill Competition and trainings, etc.

Talking to the students, Mr. Sean (Vice President Huawei Technologies, Pakistan) said that Huawei felt honored being collaborated with KICS UET Lahore for this competition. He specially mentioned last year’s UET’s students who won 2nd prize in China. Mr. Sean elaborated the competition to the students and encouraged them to participate in it. He announced the internships and jobs for the winning students.

Last year, 3 UET students won the 2nd prize in the international round of ICT Skill Competition in China.
