IEEE Lahore Section’s AGM and Golden Jubilee Held at UET Lahore

LAHORE (31-01-2018) IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Lahore Section Annual General Meeting was held in University of Engineering and Technology Lahore. It was organized by Al-Khawarazmi Institute of Computer Science and attended by the senior technical experts from academia and industry including the CEOs, CFOs and Directors of the Universities and Institutes respectively.  It is the 50th year of excellence of IEEE Lahore Section in Pakistan and at the AGM the golden jubilee was also celebrated. This event returned to UET Lahore after the hiatus of 20 years. Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid and Director KICS Dr. Waqar Mahmood chaired the meeting.

Dr. Syed Zahoor Hassan (former Vice Chancellor LUMS) presented his keynote speech. The members of this annual general meeting discussed the betterment of the country in terms of technology and took initiatives in this regard. Other topics such as Robotics, Power and Energy, Control System and Communication were also discussed in detail. Dr. Amjad Hussain (Director FAST) and Dr. Shafay Shamail delivered their views very comprehensively on subject matter.

IEEE Lahore section is very active in helping the students and the researchers. It strengthens the linkage between the industry and academia. Researchers and professionals are thoroughly helped at local and international level in their respective researches.

The event concluded with the awards’ ceremony where IEEE national awards were presented to the students and members.
