IEEE CS Lahore Section and Student Charter organizes 2-Day Workshop on Deep Learning in UET Lahore
IEEE CS Lahore Section and Student Charter organized a two-day workshop at Electrical Engineering Department of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore from 25th to 26th April 2019. The workshop’s theme was ‘Deep Learning’. A large gathering of students, researchers, faculty members and officials was seen who very enthusiastically participated in the event filled with abundance of information about the concept of deep learning.
The workshop began with a very thorough, interesting and edifying presentation delivered by Dr. Muhammad Usman Ghani (who is the Associate Professor at Computer Science and Engineering Department of UET and Manager at KICS UET). His topic was ‘Introduction and Importance of Machine Learning’. Dr. Usman’s pleasing style which was filled with depth information simply allured the participants. Next three presentations on the topics of ‘Artificial Intelligence vs Machine Learning’, ‘How ML systems change behaviors of human, Types of Machine Learning Algorithms’ and ‘Understanding of algorithm for each type of machine learning ‘ were delivered by Ms. Saira Jabeen (who is a Research Officer in CVML Lab) from KICS UET Lahore. She very elaborately let the attendants understand the subjects. Gulrez Khan from KICS UET Lahore also added his views on these subjects along with Saira Jabeen.
Second day was laced with a comprehensive presentation on the subjects of ‘How Deep Learning Works?’, ‘Steps Involved in DL’, ‘Convolution’, ‘Classification’ and ‘Implementation’.
The workshop wrapped up with certificates distribution ceremony delivered to guests and participants of the event. A group photo was taken as a token of memory.
