2nd UET-Archroma-SDC International Conference on Sustainable Textile Organized by UET in Faisalabad
2nd UET-Archroma-SDC International Conference on Sustainable Textile took place at UET’s Faisalabad campus on3rd April, 2019. Department of Textile Engineering of UET’s FSD campus, Archroma and SDC-UK successfully organized three mega events of textile mentioned as under:
- 2nd UET-ARCHROMA-SDC International Conference on Sustainable Textile
- SDC-UK International Design Competition for Students 2019 (All Pakistan region)
- Top Pakistani Textile Brands stalls and tribute
At the conference, large majority of the participants and attendees were witnessed including textile mill owners, CEOs of enterprises, industrial representatives, academicians and students. The invited speakers, who delivered their presentations, included Director KICS and CERAD UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Waqar Mahmood, Mr. Mujhtaba Rahim (CEO Archroma), Mr. Andrew (SDC-UK Technical Director), Mr. Ignasi (Director EIG Textile Sustainability), Ms. Aglaia (Consultant EIG-C2C), Eng. Ahmmad Hasan (R&D head of FCCI), Dr. Khurram (CEO K&M), Dr. Mohsin (Chairman Textile), CEO WWF Pakistan among many others.
At the students’ competition, 210 projects on textile presented by the students from all over Pakistan were displayed. The winner of this competition will have the opportunity to visit UK for grand final in November 2019 and the trip will be sponsored by SDC-UK.
Top brands of the country also exhibited their sustainable themes, articles and collections. Massod Textiles were awarded with Archroma sustainability Award whereas Patola brand won Archroma brand of the year award.
The objective of this conference was to strengthen the linkage between industry and academia.
