Dr. Sheikh Faisal Rashid obtained Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) from University of Kaiserslautern Germany. He did his post doc at Siemens Konstanz, Germany and worked as a senior researcher at German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) Kaiserslautern. Currently he is working as a director, Artificial Intelligence Research Lab, Al Khwarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) and assistant professor, Computer Science and Engineering Department, UET Lahore, Pakistan. 

He is also serving as vice president Pakistan Pattern Recognition Society (PPRS) which is officially affiliated with IAPR. His area of interest includes: Thermal Imaging, Document Image Analysis, OCR, Deep Learning and Information Extraction.
