LAHORE (4th<\/sup> May, 2018) – PEECA (Punjab Energy Efficiency and Conservation Agency) \u2013 the energy department of government of the Punjab in collaboration with Al-Khawarazmi Institute of Computer Science UET Lahore organized a \u2018Workshop on Energy Efficiency and Conservation Tools 2018\u2019 which was held at UET Lahore on 3rd<\/sup> May. The workshop will last for 3 days till 5th<\/sup> May. The opening ceremony was conducted at the main auditorium of the university where officials from the energy department of the Punjab along with university administration and faculty members came to attend it.<\/p>\n

The workshop was attended by both officials and students in large number. Director Al-Kharawazmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) & Centre for Energy Research and Development (CERAD) delivered a welcome note to the participants. In his speech, he talked about energy efficiency and its importance and PEECA\u2019s role in energy management and energy efficiency.\u00a0 He also revealed UET\u2019s efforts in launching the energy center \u2018CERAD\u2019 at UET\u2019s Kala Shah Kako Campus where MSc in Energy Engineering and a number of training and certificate courses in energy efficiency are being done. He then added that professional trainings on energy efficiency and conservation were being done in collaboration with GIZ Germany.<\/p>\n

Talking to the attendees, Ms. Sadia from PEECA said that we were on energy crisis nonetheless we happened to be the nation who kept wasting energy. She also mentioned that PEECA was on way to launch the testing labs to establish on air-conditioner. PEECA official then revealed the projects done in various government universities and colleges on energy conservation.<\/p>\n

The workshop witnessed a number of talks on the subject of \u2018energy efficiency and conservation\u2019. The topics like \u2018Flue Gas & Combustion Analysis\u2019, \u2018HottCad Generoth Software\u2019 and \u2018Opportunities in Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Sector for Energy Efficiency\u2019.<\/p>\n

By the end of the day, the speakers were conferred with the shields.<\/p>\n
